Let us introduce you to our latest bottle…
Our Bottle of the Month comes courtesy of Lobster a Môr – a small takeaway cafe and shop located at the heart of the beautiful fishing village of Little Haven, Pembrokeshire. We spoke to Katie at Lobster a Môr to get an insight into the story behind their new Tir a Môr gin…
‘We wanted to capture the essence of where we live right on the coast, surrounded by countryside, a fresh feeling…’
January – Tir a Môr
Who created Tir a Môr gin and where is it’s home?
Our gin was created by Danny (Fisherman and Shop Owner), Sophie (Danny’s partner and the talent behind the branding) and myself Katie (Shop Manager and Gin lover). It’s home is Lobster and Môr, located in the quiet fishing village of Little Haven, Pembrokeshire.
Why did you decide to create a bespoke gin?
We sell quite a few craft gins at Lobster and Môr and it was something we had been talking about for some time. After doing some research and wanting to keep it local, we were lucky enough to find In The Welsh Wind. After a few discussions, meeting the team and sharing the passion for our gin, it was an easy decision to work with them to create Tir a Môr.
What is the story behind your gin?
We wanted to capture the essence of where we live right on the coast, surrounded by countryside, a fresh feeling. We wanted a gin that could complement seafood – our largest seller in the shop – whilst also creating a great stand-alone G&T. Hopefully we’ve managed to capture this with the help of the distinct lemon verbena flavour, and of course the impressive lobster on the front of the bottle that catches your eye and helps it stand out on the shelf.
Is there anything exciting in the pipeline for Tir a Môr?
In the immediate future we aim to offer smaller sized bottles, starting with the 10cl sample bottle coming out very soon. Long term we aim to grow the Tir a Môr brand, releasing different flavour gins and alongside In The Welsh Wind, create some whiskey and rums!
