When life gives you apples - make Eau de Vie!
When life gives you lemons, make lemonade - so goes the saying. So when life, or a neighbour, gives you apples, we made Eau de Vie. A spirit with its roots deeply tangled in Europe - Framce, Switzerland, Germany to be more specific - Eau de Vie is a colourless, unaged fruit brandy. It can be made from any fruit, and the whole idea is to capture the essence of the fruit within the liquid.
The accepted way of consuming Eau de Vie is after a heavy meal. It's most commonly thought of as a 'digestif' - something to aid digestion and stave off indigestion when you've over indulged - but in our usual way, we don't think you should feel constrained! If you fancy some apple Eau de Vie as an aperitif before a meal, to celebrate something special, or simply to mark the end of the day, then why not?!
Our Eau de Vie tastes unmistakeably of the apples that went into it. A combination of locally grown cooking appleas and cider apples, we have created a spirit that sits bang within the Eau de Vie category. The apple shines through, with a subtle herbal lift of blackcurrant leaf and soft pear. On the palate, our Eau de Vie is smooth and mouthfilling leaving a natural sweetness to linger, balanced by a clean, elegant finish.
