World Whisky Day 2025 - Iechyd da!

For us, as 2025's crop pushes up in front of the Distillery and in the fields around us, it's a moment of reflection.

As far as our whisky journey goes, over the last 5 years, we have

🌾 Identified strains of barley suitable for our beautifully mild west Wales climate

🌾Worked with our local farming partner to grow our own barley, all within 10 miles of the Distillery

🌾Developed an in house malting process, reducing our carbon footprint by keeping our Welsh barley here in Wales for malting

🌾Perfected a technique mashing in on 'green malt' - further improving the sustainability of our whisky by removing the need to kiln dry our barley

🌾Seen the launch of the Single Malt Welsh Whisky GI along with other key Welsh whisky producers

It's an exciting time to be distilling in Wales. The sector as a whole has seen some big challenges over the last couple of years, but single malt Welsh whisky is emerging as a flagship product and we're excited for the future.

We don't currently have any single malt Welsh whisky on our shelves right now, after selling out our 2 limited edition single malt Welsh whiskies last year, and we have big plans for 2025 which we'll be revealing later in the year. To be at the front of the queue for our new releases, why not sign up to our Whisky mailing list

For now, we'll be enjoying a glass or two from one of last year's bottles, toasting the future with a resounding 'Iechyd da' to all of you who have supported us on our journey to a single malt Welsh whisky so far.
