June must be Gin month!
OK, it's not entirely our idea - June already hosts World Gin Day (coming up on the 14th if you didn't already have it circled in your calendar) - but why would you limit your celebrations of this delicious, classic and yet infinitely adaptable spirit to just one day in this most celebratory month? No, here at the distillery, we've decided to spend the whole month celebrating craft, flavour, and innovation in gin, starting right here at the Distillery where we craft a range of award-winning Welsh gin.
June is the best month for Gin
There's time for Gin in every month of the year, but June seems especially appropriate. The first 3 letters of 'JUNe' are, after all, the same 3 letters at the start of JUNiper, the distinctive berry which is integral to any gin.
If that wasn't enough, June is the month of World Gin Day - the best day of the year for gin lovers. World Gin Day is always celebrated on the second Saturday of June. This year, it's the 14th - and it's looking like a fantastic weekend for celebrating because National Beer Day falls on the next day (also Father's Day) - surely a moment for gin to step in and elevate your celebrations for the whole weekend?!
Why the Spotlight on Gin?
There's been a lot of talk lately that gin has had its day, that the bubble that swelled so astonishingly has now burst, that (shock horror) OTHER spirits are becoming more popular (yes, we hear you, tequila).
We've definitely seen a consolidation over the last couple of years. Anecdotally, we know of smaller brands, and some of the smaller distilleries (and some of the bigger ones) that have shut up shop, but that doesn't mean we're down about gin - far from it. Market trends suggest that while the boom in flavoured gins maybe bust, gin fans (you know who you are!!) are choosing better quality gins to splash over ice, mix into cocktails, and generally spend time with during those special moments. This, of course, is music to our ears. With 2 award-winning gin ranges - In the Welsh Wind and Eccentric Spirits - in our portfolio, comprised in the main of premium dry Welsh gins, there's plenty for us to be excited about, so we hope you'll join us as we dive deeper into gin!
Celebrate Welsh Gin this June
As an ambitious Welsh Distillery, we're particularly excited about Welsh gin. There are some crackers out there, and we're pleased to sit along side stunners such as the Tir a Mor range. Our goal has always been to produce spirits that speak of the land where we live, work and play; to incorporate the stories of Wales, her people and places into premium Welsh gin. The awards we have accumulated since we launched our standout distillery favourite Signature Style reassure us that we're on the right track - but what's even more heartening are the reviews and feedback we receive from our customers.
If you haven't tried our gins, June is definitely the month to do so!

A gin for National Beer Day
If you thought you'd have to switch to beer for National Beer Day, think again. Our Young Tom gin features a distilled IPA from our friends at Bluestone Brewing Co. The beer brings a rich and smooth malty sweetness to the spirit which makes it perfect for sipping with a splash of plain Indian tonic water on a sunny afternoon (or any afternoon really!)

Stay tuned for the whole of June - Gin month!
We'll be looking at all things gin - and Welsh gin in particular, across the month: on our socials, here on the website, and in our emails which we send out once a week - sign up if you'd like to hear from us directly into your inbox.
We hope you'll spend the month with us, and perhaps take the opportunity to try something new. For now, why not pour yourself a G&T and enjoy.
Iechyd da!
