Mothering Sunday - every year, a new challenge; not least because it can be really hard to find a gift that shows the mum in your life that she's really appreciated, while not necessarily costing the earth. Here in west Wales, we're lucky to have some great options for Mother's Day gifts - which rely more on a little imagination than a lot of cash.
The gift of a Gin Experience
The trend of giving experiences rather than 'things', is very much here to stay. The weather can often be a bit hit and miss during late March/early April, when Mothering Sunday tends to fall, so choosing an 'indoor' activity rather than something that is reliant on some decent weather, would be a safe bet: this year, 2025, Mother's Day falls on 30th March in the UK - the fourth Sunday in Lent, and 3 weeks before Easter, so while a walk on the beach could be wonderful, there's a good chance of a chilly breeze or even some early April showers.

The Distillery is open on Saturday 29th March, so this is the perfect opportunity to extend your appreciation of your mum beyond Mother's Day, and spend some quality time with her, learning about premium Welsh spirits in a Gin Tasting Experience, or even for your mum to craft her own, unique bottle of gin during a Gin Making Experience. Combined with a walk on the beach, and perhaps a picnic (if it's warm enough) or lunch in one of our lovely local pubs or cafes, you're on the way to a wonderful Mother's Day weekend.
