Buying for someone who loves gin or whisky is harder than it sounds. They already have the supermarket bottles, and they have probably tried the famous ones. What they are less likely to have is something from a small distillery in west Wales, made by people they could drive over and meet.

Gifts for whisky lovers
Our three blended Welsh malts are the best place to start. Each one brings together single malts from more than one Welsh distillery, blended here, and each has a character from the labels by Welsh printmaker Marion Haf.
- Brychan, the red kite, was the first blend of Welsh single malts to come to market. It went on to win Gold and Best Welsh Blended Malt at the World Whiskies Awards 2026. Honey, chocolate and red fruits, and the easiest of the three to love.
- Ceredig, the lobster man, is the UK's first green malt blend, made with barley that never sees the kiln. Red berries and vanilla, then a long finish of cut grass and raw grain. Gold at the World Whisky Masters 2026.
- Meirion, the man of the sea, is the coastal one. Marsala and ex-bourbon casks, a light touch of smoke and a long, savoury finish. The newest of the three, so chances are they have not tried it yet.

Gifts for gin lovers
Signature Style Gin is the one we are known for. Its botanicals were inspired by the cargoes that came into New Quay and the flavours of Welsh baking: orange, cinnamon, clove, ginger and tea-soaked currants. Serve it with a cube of ice, a premium tonic and a slice of dried orange with a clove.
Palo Cortado Cask-Aged Gin is Signature Style rested in Palo Cortado sherry casks. The wood brings almonds, dried stone fruit and spice. At the World Gin Awards 2026 it was named one of the top five matured gins in the world. It is good neat, which makes it a thoughtful pick for someone who drinks both gin and whisky.

For the one who has everything
When they already own the bottle, give them the day instead.
- Gin Making Experience. About two hours at the distillery for up to two people sharing a still, on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays at 11am. They explore the botanicals, write their own recipe, distil it on our development still and take home a 70cl bottle of a gin nobody else has.
- Gin Tasting Experience. A relaxed afternoon: a G&T on arrival, a guided tasting of three Welsh gins, a tour of the working distillery and a second drink of their choice. A non-alcoholic tasting is available too.
- Tailor Your Gin. For gin lovers who live too far away to visit. They pick a base recipe and up to three hero botanicals online, name their gin, and we distil, label and post it to them. Order by 18 December for it to arrive before Christmas. We can still make it after that, but it may not arrive until after Christmas.

The present that takes three years to open
For someone who wants to make their own whisky, there is a 30 litre cask. They choose kilned barley or our unkilned green malt, and a seasoning for the cask, from sherry and port to red wine. It is filled with new make from our stills and matured here for three years and a day. Order by Monday 21 December for the certificate to reach them before Christmas.
They get a cask ownership certificate, can visit by appointment and taste samples as it matures. At the end, they take home bottles with their own label. Bottling, duty and VAT are paid when the whisky is ready, so check the cask terms before you buy.
