The third and final in our trio of Blended Welsh Malt Whiskies, we are proud to introduce Meirion. Building on the reputation of both Brychan and Ceredig, Meirion sources the highest quality Welsh malts to complement our own in-house produced whisky.

A masala cask for the fruit and the spice. A touch of peat, kept light, the way weather arrives off the water. And our own green malt running through it, unkilned and alive. Meirion carries more of it than Ceredig did. Green malt is the harder way to work. It is also the reason our whisky tastes like nowhere else. Maritime, fruity and gently smoky, with a savoury grain character and a rich, lingering finish. 

Blended here at the distillery, this edition draws on the spirit of Meirion, the pipe-smoking mackerel, our man of the sea. Stubborn, loyal and not for changing. He works whatever needs doing, quay or soil, year in, year out, and the smell of smoke follows him everywhere.

Tasting Notes: Maritime salinity and brine lead into ripe pear, blackberry and soft caramel, underpinned by fresh barley on the nose. Soft smoke introduces caramelised pear, dark berry fruit and herbaceous notes developing into a deeper savoury character on the palate. Meanwhile the finish is long and savoury, with chargrilled red pepper, raw barley and dark chocolate, rounded by rich buttery pastry.
