Honey Gin Old Fashioned

Honey Gin Old Fashioned

The sun is shining (although for how long we can never be sure) and thoughts of cocktails spring to mind. This week, fresh from our mixologist’s bar, we bring you a honey gin old fashioned. Cocktails are all about balance. The right combination of sweet and sour, strong and weak flavours brought together in the perfect glass. The Old Fashioned is a classic ‘spirit-forward’ cocktail sitting alongside favourites such as the Manhattan, and of course the Martini (whether you prefer it shaken or stirred). It’s one of the oldest recorded cocktails and certainly one of the most popular. As you...

Our planning permission has been granted!

Our planning permission has been granted!

We’re incredibly excited to announce that our planning permission to expand the Gogerddan Arms site has been granted, paving the way for a multi-million pound development right here in west Wales. We now have the go ahead to extend and develop the existing building and to construct a cask and grain store which is fundamental to our production of ‘grain to glass’ Welsh whisky. We also have pre-planning approval to create an industry-leading education and research centre, a development that we’re really keen to move forward with, here at our home at Tanygroes. Even before we moved here, we felt...

This is what will bring flavour and complexity to the gin that is to be cask-aged, without overwhelming it. It can be a labour of love to identify a cask that...

Welsh barley for Welsh Whisky

Welsh barley for Welsh Whisky

Barley has been grown in west Wales for as long as our farming friends can remember. ‘Barley Saturday’ (sadly missing from the diary again this year) has long been a marker in the Cardigan calendar and a time for the community to come together. This festival rooted in the local seasonal ebb and flow marks the sowing of the final crop – barley. Traditionally, Welsh barley has been sold on as animal feed and it’s been a key step in our progress to a fully Welsh whisky to demonstrate the suitability of Welsh barley for malting and distilling, brewing and...

Awards for Eccentric Gin

Awards for Eccentric Gin

It’s Awards season for gin, and while Signature Style has gathered a host of accolades around it, we’ve been delight that we’ve won a number of important awards for Eccentric Gin. Producing great quality gin is something we’re proud of. We get amazing feedback from our customers, many coming back for more of their favourite bottle. We’re also finding that people are interested in trying the other bottles in the range. To be honest, this feedback is what makes the difference to us – but we would be lying if we said that these recent awards for Eccentric gin weren’t...
